Glynneath v Morriston

Glynneath going into their last three games needing maximum points to clinch the league title wasted no time in their quest when they crossed for their first try after only two minutes . A sniping run by Dalton Brown nearly made the line and quick recycled ball found Craig Tennant who was unstoppable from five metres out . Dylan Francis without a kicking tee attempted a drop goal that went wide of the upright but from there on he provided a superb kicking exhibition firing over conversions from the touchline in the wet conditions with ease !!!A twenty metre driving maul by Glynneath took them up to the Morriston line and when it was illegally pulled down the visitors were given a yellow card .Glynneath’s second try came after some excellent inter passing along the touchline saw Rhys Williams squeeze over in the corner .Dylan Francis converted well from wide out.More chances went begging before Captain Aled Evans came off his wing to pop up in midfield and his side stepping run took him over for a great try .Again Francis struck another fantastic touchline conversion. It took the visitors a good part of the first half to trouble the Glynneath line but when they did get downfield they were rewarded with a try by Ryan Cursten .This did not derail Glynneath’s objective and they scored the bonus point try when an incredible burst downfield by Rhodri Evans he found support in Jed O’Reilly who raced away to the line . Dylan Francis adding the extras .In the extremely wet and greasy conditions Glynneath were putting on a Barbarian style exhibition and Sean Tennant added a fifth try cutting through the visitors defence to go under the posts .This time it was a simple conversion for Dylan Francis.Glynneath as on numerous occasions they were stopped short of the line the ball moved quickly by slick handling and centre Jed O’Reilly left defenders in his wake with a clever angled run .Francis converting.Glynneath kept the momentum going and added another try when Llewelyn Hawkes went over wide out again Dylan Francis successful with another difficult conversion.A solo try by Jed O’Reilly completed the players hat trick converted by Dylan Francis .Glynneath wrapped up a brilliant performance when Luke Weaver went over in the closing minutes for the home sides ninth try , this time another touchline conversion by Francis failed narrowly to find its target.Full time Glynneath 59 Morriston 5
