Skewen v Glynneath

At last,a Glynneath win at Skewen ,it’s been a long time coming .When Glynneath started the game pounding the Skewen try line in a ten minute period ,the home defence was magnificent and when they broke upfield they were rewarded with a penalty which Anthony Buselli duly slotted over. When Glynneath lost a player to the bin Skewen took full advantage and from a driving maul after securing good lineout ball Harry Davies crossed for a try .And when Buselli added the conversion ,Glynneath players and supporters couldn’t be blamed for thinking ,here we go again ,Deja Vu,but a Dylan Francis penalty pulled three points back and after surviving more Skewen pressure Glynneath came right back into the game when Centre Jed O’Reillys strong run to the line saw him get the touchdown. It was the home sides turn to suffer with a yellow card and with the Glynneath pack starting to get on top at scrum time they lost a try dropping the ball yards from the line .Glynneaths Jack O’Reilly continued his sides comeback with a penalty that put his side in front for the first time in the game.Another penalty by O’Reilly soon followed with Glynneath enjoying more of the decisions that they didn’t get in the first half. How Glynneath failed to score a second try was unbelievable, after great work which created an overlap ,it would have been easier to score but the ball failed to go to hand . Jack O’Reilly extended his sides lead with two more penalties putting the game further out of Skewen reach and the game was sealed when wing caught a high kick to race away to the line ,converted by O’Reilly.Skewen finished on a high when Glynneath down to 14 men conceded to a Jordan Adderly try in the  dying minutes .Converted by Anthony Buselli. How it’s changed when Glynneath were disappointed to come away from Skewen without a bonus point when for years they’ve craved for a single win .Full time .Skewen 17 Glynneath 29
