With Glynneath earlier in the season releasing opponents Birchgrove at their request but then weeks later were refused to be released from this corresponding fixture , the visitors claiming the points this was always going to be a tasty affair. It was a lively start by Dunvant with their powerful pack winning good ball and only a knock on failed to produce an early score .It was Glynneath who opened the scoring in style , a great move from inside their own half saw backs and forwards link and when second row Jonathan Griffiths looked set to score only to be tackled short of the line ,his deft pass found fellow forward Aled Davies in support to finish off under the posts.Jack O’Reilly converting.A driving maul by Dunvant had Glynneath in all sorts of trouble and Adam Gregory got the touchdown. Adam White converting .Within minutes Glynneath regained the lead when some slick handling put wing Scourfield over wide out the conversion sailing just wide of the upright .The home side were on fire producing some excellent rugby and only last ditch tackles preventing another score .When Dunvant regained their composure they made inroads into the Glynneath 22 and from another powerful drive by their forwards Gregory crossed for his second try of the game.White converting to give his side a half time lead .Dunvant started the second half as they finished the first,with a score , this time a penalty from White.This stung Glynneath into action and Dunvant had no answer to the furious pace of this young Glynneath side.First Jack O’Reilly fired over a penalty after his side went close on a few occasions,and a great break by outside half Dalton Brown and some lovely exchanges of passes just fail to produce yet another fantastic try .They were not to be denied and it was O’Reilly who powered over for a try of his own at the posts , firing over the extra points . This was pulsating stuff from the home side and O’Reilly who went over for his second try of the game under the sticks , adding the extra points.Dunvant saw a glimmer of hope when they crossed for their third try of the game but the lead was extended yet again when prop Adam Nation finished off another flowing move.Again O’Reilly added the conversion and when Adam Gregory added his third try of the game in the dying minutes a rushed conversion saw the easy points go begging which could have giving them hope Man of the Match Glynneaths Jack O’Reilly fired over a penalty to put the result beyond doubt .This was a superb all round performance by this young Glynneath side and a fully deserved victory Full Time Glynneath 39 Dunvant 29
