Glynneath v Dunvant

This previous fixture saw Glynneath run out 36-29 winners in a game where the score didn’t really give a true reflection of the home sides dominance in that game . This latest fixture was a different more even contest where both defences cancelled each other out.The first twenty minutes saw the game being played between both 22s where the excellent defences cancelled each other out.First chance of a score fell to Glynneath’s Jack O’Reilly but his 40 metre effort sailed just wide of the upright. With Dunvant on top at scrum time Glynneath under pressure go the ball away and a strong run by wing Ryan Parry carved open the visitors defence and although he found support Dunvant were able to reorganise .The game came alive when from a quickly taken tap penalty Glynneath took the lead when a touch line move saw Adam Nation power over .Glynneath started to put promising moves together but again the home defence snuffed out attack after attack .It took 45 minutes before the visitors troubled the scoreboard but a 40 metre chance went well wide .With both sides suffering a yellow card it was Dunvant who seemed to take more of the advantage of the situation when they were camped in the home 22 but could not breach the home defence.A second yellow saw Glynneath down to 13 men but incredibly they kept Dunvant scoreless .A late penalty by Dylan Francis sealed victory for Glynneath and got them off to a great start in this newly formed league.
