Principality here we come !!! Glynneath won through to the final with a last gasp penalty from the boot of outside half Dylan Francis.Glynneath took the game to their opponents from the start looking comfortable in the opening ten minutes, only some stern defence by Mountain Ash keeping their line intact after some ferocious drives by the Glynneath forwards. Pressure proved too much and when adjudged to be offside Glynneath’s Dylan Francis opened the scoring with the resulting penalty. He followed up with another successful strike to increase his sides lead .With Glynneath dominating the scrums there was no sign of the drama to come . Glynneath were dealt a blow when they received a yellow card and Mount took advantage rattling up 15 unanswered points in those ten minutes .Callum Hall fired over their first points and this was quickly followed by the first try of the game . After a kick and chase just failed to produce a try the ball moved quickly along the backs for Jamie Long to go over wide out .Callum Hall converting well .Long crossed for a second try to put his side 15-6 up. As soon as Glynneath we’re back to full compliment normal service resumed , with the Glynneath pack destroying the the Old Firms set piece. After Mount suffered a yellow card ,penalty after penalty were conceded by Mountain Ash and Glynneath refused to take the points but elected to go for a catch and drive from the line out but Mount kept them out leaving Glynneath frustrated .Another drive to the line saw Mountain Ash penalised and the referee went to the posts awarding Glynneath a penalty try .Glynneath’s tails were up and again went close ,with time running out Glynneath were awarded a penalty but Dylan Francis pulled his attempt wide . This didn’t phase this Glynneath side who have fought back in a few games this season when things look lost . Another penalty to Glynneath saw Francis step up for a similar chance to the early miss . As he stepped up for this possible match winning kick the so called “Mount crowd “ not the true majority of Old Firm supporters through his run up but were silenced as the ball sailed between the posts to start off euphoric celebrations , Francis mobbed by his team mates .Credit to the Mountain Ash side who fought hard throughout to make it an exciting encounter .
