Glynneath kept up their great start to the season ,remaining unbeaten with a 19-0 win over visitors Ammanford. Glynneath were out of the blocks and stunned the visitors with a great try by Jed O'Reilly in the fourth minute ,the player cutting the Ammanford defence to shreds in a side stepping run to the line.Jack O'Reilly converting. The home side were playing some exciting rugby in the greasy conditions and they increased their lead when a well controlled catch and drive at a lineout, saw Captain James Parry getting the touchdown after 16 mins .Jack O'Reilly adding the extras.Such was the home sides dominance which should have produced further scores , Ammanford other than the restarts failed to get any foothold into the Glynneath half.Ammanford came out the second half a different animal ,and it was the homes sides turn to defend furiously ,with Glynneaths Man of the Match Shaun Moses ferocious in his tackling as the visitors pack pounded the Glynneath line. When Glynneath did escape the stranglehold,a great break by full back Brogan Lloyd saw his run just fail to deliver a third try for the home side.More pressure by Ammanford saw Glynneath let off , when what looked like a simple penalty chance by Steff Roberts sailed wide of the post.Again Ammanford came back with a series of forwards drives but the home defence held firm and after making progress upfield they did get a try.A patient build up by the forwards released their backs and wing Aled Evans crossed wide out in the 70 th minute .The game erupted in the 75 th minute when a bad spear tackle on a Glynneath player ,resulted in both sides involved in trading punches .resulting in Ammanford receiving a red card for the original offence and Glynneath having one for retaliation. This spoilt what was a good well fought contest played in great spirit. Full time Glynneath 19 Ammanford 0
