Bonymaen v Glynneath

On form this was the game of the day where something had to give as both sides had only suffered one defeat this season and it was Glynneath who came away with the spoils in a hard fought game .It was the visitors who drew first blood when after some patient build up by their pack that saw them going close ,the call switched quickly to their backs and a delightful turn out of a tackle by centre Greg Roberts created an overlap and wing Aled Evans went over for a try .Dylan Francis converting well from wide out. They increased their lead when scrum half Owen Nesbitt spotted a gap and raced away and when faced with the last defender his well judged kick saw the Bonymaen player caught cold and a further kick ahead and gather saw Nesbitt finish off a superb individual effort .Again Dylan Francis fired over the difficult conversion. Bonymaen came back in the game when looking like going nowhere due to the tigerish tackling by the visitors for once there was a lapse and when Bonymaen broke away Chris Moore looked certain to score but a great recovery tackle by Glynneaths Ben Jones failed to prevent a score as Moore found Nathan Brooks in support to go over . Lawrence Thomas converting. Both sides suffered a yellow card but it was Glynneath who took advantage when from a catch and drive it was Craig Tennant who broke away from the maul to touchdown.Francis converting to keep his 100% conversion record intact .Bonymaen showed why they topped the table when they exerted extreme ten minute pressure on the Glynneath line and when it looked like Glynneath had survived the onslaught Jordan Foley forced his way over . The conversion could have set up a tense last ten minutes but the conversion struck the upright leaving Glynneath two scores ahead .It was Glynneath who finished the stronger with Bonymaen fighting to keep out the Glynneath packs strong runs .
