Glynneath looking to take last weeks form into this game dominated the early exchanges having plenty of possession and on top at scum time but failed to convert their possession into points thanks to a stubborn Birchgrove defence.Glynneath opened the scoring when playing an advantage a high kick hit the base of the post which was cleared by the home defence so they came ack for the kick which Jack O’Reilly fired over.Mathew Edwards put his side level from the restart, but with Glynneath destroying the home scrum ,O’Reilly saw his penalty attempt to wide of the upright .A penalty to Birchgrove saw them run it and they lost a try dropping the ball over the line.Mathew Edwards put his side in front with his second penalty and against the run of play stunned Glynneath with a try in the corner by Adam Rowlands after a clever kick through to the corner.Mathew Edwards touchline conversion giving his side an unexpected half time lead .Glynneath came out second half firing on all cylinders and Calum McPhee was squeezed out in the corner.They were not to be denied and Steff Stone finished off a slick handling move to put Glynneath back into the game ,O’Reilly converting.Curtis Davies went over from a driving maul, converted by Mathew Edwards.Again the game switched back again Josh Morris crashing over for a Glynneath try.Jack O’Reilly converting to put his side back to within three points .All the good work was undone as some slack defence saw Curtis Davies waltz through unopposed for a try . Edwards converting.Again Glynneath were caught napping as the home side ran a penalty from inside their 22 and should have gone over for another try but failed to capitalise but still came away with a score when outside half Owen Evans slotted over a snap drop goal to put the game out of Glynneaths reach .Full time Birchgrove 30 Glynneath 17
