Maesteg Celtic v Glynneath

Glynneath went down to a second successive defeat after starting the game at a furious pace that saw the home going the first ten minutes without any serious possession, but they only had a Jack O’Reilly penalty to show for their dominance.A second O’Reilly effort drifted wide of the posts before the game changed with Glynneath coming under the cosh ,pinned in their own half for the rest of the period before half time.Scrum after scrum and some driving mauls saw the Maesteg pack going close on a few occasions. One incredible drive at scrum time by Glynneath gave the visitors some temporary relief but Maesteg were not to be denied and Bleddyn Griffiths got the touchdown after being driven over by his pack . Mathew Harris firing over an excellent touch line conversion.Quins were given a yellow card and Glynneaths Craig Tennant was convinced he’d score after good work by the Glynneath forwards .Glynneath regained the lead when Jack O’Reilly ghosted through the home defence for a great try .O’Reilly converting his own score . Back came the Quins and it was the home sides outside half Mathew Harris who put his side back in front with an excellent try splitting the visitors defence.Harris converting. After Glynneath went down to 14 men the home side made the game safe when they were awarded a penalty try for a fully deserved win .Final Score .Maesteg Quins 21 Glynneath 10
