Glynneath v Brynamman

Aled Evans - Try

Jack O'Reilly 1 Con 4 Pen

Surprisingly with the horrendous weather leading up to this game ,it turned out to be an entertaining encounter played on an excellent playing surface .Glynneath yet to suffer defeat in this campaign were stunned in the opening minutes when the visitors Oshan Evans went over for a try after good work by his forwards.Craig Jones converting.Brynamman were well on top and threatened the home line on a few occasions but the home defence held firm.It took Glynneath twenty minutes to trouble the scoreboard and it came from a Jack O’Reilly penalty.Again the visitors came back and it took a superb pin point pressure relieving kick from Jack O’Reilly that sailed seventy metres to the Brynamman try line .It was Glynneath who were now turning the screw and when the visitors were yellow carded ,O’Reilly stepped up to punish them with his second penalty of the game .Glynneath making a mockery of the greasy conditions with their slick handling saw wing Aled Evans finish off a slick move wide out after thirty minutes . O’Reilly converting superbly from the touch line.Glynneath going into half time with a 13-7 lead increased their lead on the fiftieth minute ,again O’Reilly striking sweetly between the posts.Minutes later Craig Jones cancelled out the hosts penalty with a well struck effort of his own .Again Glynneath went on the attack and though they didn’t cross the whitewash again ,they did put the game in a scenario where the visitors needed two scores when Jack O’Reilly fired over his fourth penalty of the game in the seventieth minute to clinch victory.Another excellent result for Glynneath keeping their 100% record going .Full Time .Glynneath 19 Brynamman 10
