Glynneath v Kenfig Hill

Games between these two sides are always entertaining and more often than not they involve comebacks, this one was no exception !!!!An enterprising opening five minutes saw Glynneath go close and when they failed to break through the visitors defence they had to settle for a Dylan Francis penalty to open the scoring.Kenfig Hill after two powerful rolling mauls , the latter resulting with them being held up over the line enabling Glynneath to clear the danger.A tremendous effort by Glynneath’s pack saw them drive the visitors eight driven off their own ball near the line and Luke Weaver picked up to go over for the first try of the game.Conner Tatum had a chance to pull three points back for the Mules but pulled his effort wide.Glynneath’s Dylan Francis showed the way firing over a well struck penalty.Glynneath increased their lead with a superb try. Full Back Jordan Griffiths gathering a high kick set off on a pacey run and when he made inroads into the visitors half he found wing Joe Hughes in support who outstripped the two remaining defenders to go over wide out .When Glynneath were awarded a second penalty in the opening minutes of the second half some supporters thought that they’d go for tries for the bonus point and as proved later in the half you have to win the game first as Kenfig Hill staged a great comeback .Lloyd Allen went over for a try for the visitors converted by Connor Tatum . Dylan Francis exchanged penalties with Tatum in between a yellow card for each side and it was Francis who had the last word with his fifth penalty of the game to seal the win in a nervous last ten minutes .Final score Glynneath 25 Kenfig Hill 17
