After the rigours of League rugby, Glynneath turned their attention to the WRU Plate, entertaining Nantymoel from Division 2 West Central.

Glynneath stamped their authority on the match with two tries in the first ten minutes, scored by Harri Morgan & Jed O’Reilly, both converted by Dylan Francis. Glynneath continued their dominance on the match, despite a spirited performance by the Nanymoel defence, and scored further tries by Rhodri Jones & a second for Harri Morgan, again both converted by Dylan Francis to lead 28-0 after 35 minutes. Nanymoel made a rare surge towards the Glynneath line, and were rewarded with an unconverted try just before halftime to make the score 28-5 to Glynneath.

Nanymoel provided Glynneath a worthy opponent, and despite an early try in the second half by Craig Tennant, converted by Dylan Francis, continued to defend stoically but could not prevent Glynneath scoring further tries by Brogan Lloyd, Josh Morris, Callum McPhee & Aled Jones, with Dylan Francis converting two of these tries.

Glynneath ran out worthy winners 59-5, but credit must go to Nantymoel for the determination and manner in which they played the game, and credit to Jonathan Walters for his referring of the game.

Glynneath face a harder challenge in the Second Round away at Division One West leaders Felinfoel on 27^th October.
